My husband is going to be working 75 hours this week and so I took it upon myself to mow this morning and now he's all pissed off.
I did not hurt myself and took it easy. But was wondering of you ladies have ever done it or plan on mowing this summer.
I mow my fairly large lawn all by myself all of the time. The only problem might be the noise, but I don't think it is that loud. The only thing I plan on mowing is a ton of cheeseburgers. I did it throughout my previous pregnancy, too, no harm done. The worst it did was make my husband feel inadequate and embarassed that his pregnant wife was seen mowing the lawn :- I figure as long as you're hydrated and don't push yourself, its a great form of exercise outdoors.
I mowed ours last week at 26 weeks pregnant. I'm only 4 weeks along and I'm nervous to mow the lawn. I have a push lawn mower. Would I still be good or should I not since this is my first pregnancy? You are supposed to stay somewhat active while pregnant I have a fb friend that is on her 2nd pregnancy and she still goes to the gym and lifts insane amts of weight. I know I need to take things a little easier and not do a lot of heavy lifting, but it didn't stop me from raking leaves and sticks out of 2 hedgerows, mowing the front yard and trimming my 2 trees yesterday.
My push-mower uses regular gas, nothing fancy, and it's way better than getting behind a busted up vehicle that stinks while driving around town. My thoughts are go about your business but at a slower pace. I took many breaks yesterday and drank lots of water. The yard-work has always been my thing except for weed whacking, that's H's job , I really enjoy being outside and I wasn't going to let this amazing weekend in WNY go by without getting stuff done.
Good luck with all of you deciding what to do. Remember to just stay hydrated and take breaks and stop altogether if you feel you need to.
I love to mow the lawn with the push mower! We have a decent size yard so our lawnmower would run out of gas about 3 times, perfect time for a little longer break. My husband always hated me cutting the grass while pregnant though.. But I would beat him too it! You know your body if you feel anything is too strenuous stop!
